Helping Your Entity to Deliver

Transdisciplinary and   Integrative Approach

We are an infrastructure engineering consulting firm. Our core services and support within the infrastructure sector includes Transportation and Urban Systems, Geotechnical and Environmental Sustainability as well as Product Design.

Our services are centered within the infrastructure provision sector which are defined as “the physical components of interrelated systems providing commodities and services essential to enable, sustain, or enhance societal living conditions  and maintain the surrounding environment.

Ndlovu Engineering Techniks (Pty) Ltd was founded by Lindelani Ndou, Jeanette Matolo and Singazi Ndlovu. We’ve had over 15 years’ experience in the field of engineering.

Our head offices are in Johannesburg, South Africa, and we aspire to serve the continent, and eventually, global markets.

Our main focus is helping our clients with solutions and providing an engineering platform of services that help fulfil their requirements and service delivery objectives.

Our strategy is to occupy all 3-life cycles of consulting and advisory(consult-advisory, design as well as built and maintain)  whether as an aggregate or solo and provide niche or combined services for an engineered system designed or adapted to interact with an anticipated operational environment to achieve one or more intended purposes while complying with applicable constraints.

Consult-advisory | Design | Build & Maintain

  • Consult-advisory – This includes working with client management to help set their agendas, solve project critical or institutional problems, project management and helping them evaluate their most promising opportunities in the marketplace or service delivery objective. The goal of our consult-advisory services is to solve critical engineering problems,
set agendas, aligning institutional purpose, define the problem statement and guide the
client in planning and coordinating the work activities needed to deliver a satisfactory
product, service, or enterprise endeavor within the constraints of schedule, budget,
resources, infrastructure, and available staffing and technology. The expertise and best-
practice methodologies ( Systems Approach) of our engineering consult-advisory team are
integral to our smarter business approach.
  • Design – This is where we deal with transforming client requirements into action by developing conceptual designs, detailed design, documenting, and blueprinting transformative solutions for successful implementation.
  • Build and Maintain (Implementation and Operation) – We are also involved in implementation of designs or advisory services and moving the client to a desired future state up to retirement or decommissioning  of the engineered system.

Infrastructure Systems

Transportation and Urban Systems

Transportation engineering
focuses on the design,
construction, operation, and
maintenance of transportation
systems. This includes roads,
highways, bridges, tunnels,
railways, airports, and public
transit systems. We work to
develop systems that enhance
mobility, reduce congestion,
and improve overall
transportation efficiency.

Urban systems engineering
deals with the broader aspects
of urban development and
sustainability. It includes
transportation as a critical
component but also considers
other urban infrastructure and
systems, such as water supply,
sewage, storm-water, energy,
and public facilities. We work
to create sustainable, resilient,
and livable cities.

Together, transportation and
urban systems engineering
play a pivotal role in
addressing the complex
challenges that often include
traffic congestion, air
pollution, public transit
efficiency, safety, and the
integration of emerging
technologies.

Transportation and urban
systems contribute to the
creation of more accessible,
efficient, and environmentally
friendly cities. They are crucial
in addressing the ongoing
issues associated with
urbanization, population
growth, and the need for
improved transportation
infrastructure in urban areas.

Geotechnical and Environmental Sustainability

We address both the
structural and environmental
aspects of infrastructure
projects by assessing soil and
subsurface conditions to
ensure the structural integrity
of construction projects as
well as focusing on identifying
and mitigating environmental
contaminants and hazards.

By considering both the
geotechnical and
environmental aspects, we
design infrastructure that is
not only structurally sound but
also environmentally
sustainable.

We play a crucial role in
foundation design and
geotechnics, while handling
groundwater protection and
management. Combining
these areas can lead to more
effective groundwater
protection strategies and
foundation designs that are
less invasive to the
environment.

Geotechnical and
Environmental engineering
techniques and knowledge
play a valuable role in
promoting sustainable and
environmentally friendly practices in agriculture and
rural areas which includes
waste and water resources
management, soil
conservation promoting long-
term economic and social
stability.

Product Design

We work with architects,
artists, materials engineers to
explore new infrastructure
products, materials,
construction methods, and
sustainable practices to
improve the efficiency and
environmental sustainability of
infrastructure project.
We forever seeking out
innovative materials,
construction techniques, and
technologies to make projects
stand out.

Civil infrastructure engineering
has traditionally been
associated with the functional
and structural aspects of civil
infrastructure rather than the
aesthetics and consumer-
centric design often associated
with product design in other
engineering fields.

We are collaborating with other
professionals using systems
approach methods by
providing product designs for
civil infrastructure systems.
In consumer-centric design,
it is important to involve the
local community and
stakeholders in the design
process. This requires their
input considering their needs
and preferences to create
infrastructure that enhances
their quality of life.

Our role in this approach is to
create infrastructure that not
only meets functional needs
but also enriches the aesthetic
and cultural aspects of a
community. It can lead to
iconic and innovative
structures that capture the
imagination and admiration of
the public while serving a
practical purpose.
